Tips for documenting disruptions

The evidence you capture in the moment is what makes a claim filing-ready. Here is how to do it right.

Photograph receipts immediately

Capture the full receipt with the merchant name, date, and total visible. Churo extracts the amounts, but a clear photo is what your benefit administrator needs.

Save every delay and cancellation notice

Forward airline emails to Churo as soon as you get them. The timestamp on the original notice is often what proves the delay.

Note the time the delay started

Most trip delay benefits start after a set number of hours. Record when the delay began, not just when you were rebooked.

Keep the original booking confirmation

Your itinerary proves what was paid and when. Even after a disruption, keep the original confirmation alongside any rebooking.

Match expenses to covered categories

Meals, lodging, and transit are commonly covered. Churo flags which expense categories your card includes.

Confirm before you submit

Churo prepares the packet, but you review every extracted fact. Confirming accurate values is what makes the packet filing-ready.
